Opening Day - A recollection of memories

Red Hill Candle Co the Factory Shop and Experience officially opened on December 5th 2020! It was quite a whirlwind and a day I’ll never forget!

We had hoped to do a big launch event celebrating all things candles but with Covid-19 lockdowns only having recently ending it just wasn’t to be. The days leading up to opening I think I called out my quota of favours for the year and had incredible help from friends and family to get everything ready.

I’d just become a new mum 3 weeks earlier so was still recovering from 24hr labour and 2nd degree tear plus it was also our first Red Hill Market back after the lockdowns ended. That morning I got up at 6am fed baby Percie, then headed to the market. I had some amazing friends, Sam and Tegan there to set up and man the stall all day and we almost had our biggest market day ever! Once they were set up and settled in I went back to the shop where Mum and Kellie were putting the final touches on the store ready for our opening. 
It was such an amazing moment seeing the shop come to life and opening the doors after years of planning. 

We had an amazing day with heaps of friendly familiar faces coming to show their support. That day I met so many of our wonderful customers who had been following along our journey through social media so it was great to meet them in person. We now have so much more stock in the store and can’t believe how much the shop has blossomed since that day.
